Glazed Corned Beef


Corned beef is a versatile and budget-friendly meat. Paired with a sweet glaze it acquires a whole new taste dimension.

The ingredient of Glazed Corned Beef

  • 1 5kg corned silverside
  • 8 whole cloves
  • 1 brown onion peeled root intact
  • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
  • 8 small pickling onions peeled
  • 4 large carrots roughly chopped
  • 1 4 cabbage cut into wedges
  • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 2 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 1 orange rind finely grated juiced

The Instruction of glazed corned beef

  • place silverside in a large saucepan cover with water press cloves into onion add to saucepan place saucepan over medium heat bring to the boil uncovered using a slotted spoon skim fat from surface partially cover cook for a further 30 minutes
  • add golden syrup pickling onions and carrot to saucepan cook partially covered for 1 hour place cabbage on top of silverside cook covered for 10 minutes or until cabbage is tender remove cabbage pickling onions carrot and beef place on a plate cover with foil discard onion with cloves
  • preheat oven to 200u00b0c line a shallow baking dish with baking paper
  • make glaze combine all ingredients in a small bowl
  • place corned beef in baking dish spoon over glaze roast for 20 minutes brushing occasionally with glaze until golden stand for 5 minutes before slicing serve with cabbage pickling onions and carrot
